The story

Pear started where most good restaurant ideas do — in the middle of service, watching something not quite work.

A waiter leaves the floor to fetch a terminal. A guest waits to pay when they're ready to leave. A conversation pauses at the most natural moment of the meal.

Payment had become the only part of the restaurant experience nobody had bothered to redesign.

So we did.
